Learn About Inlays and Onlays
Made of either gold, composite, or porcelain material, inlays and onlays are a type of dental restoration used to repair moderately damaged or decayed teeth. The Dentists use inlays and onlays when a tooth is too damaged for a filling, but not damaged enough for a crown. Inlays are placed in the center of your tooth while onlays are used on the inside and outside areas or points of the tooth. Dental inlays and onlays are also often used when older fillings need to be replaced.
